		<description>Like many things in history, Darwin and his ideas have become difficult to separate from what we might call the evolution of the idea of evolution, as well as the accusations of various anti-Darwin groups about what he said or what he meant.

I think we have to assume that Darwin himself would be surprised by at least some of the developments since his lifetime that alter or refine our sense of what evolution is and how it happens. Who knows, he might even be surprised at how much of what he said was quite profound and lasting.</description>
